Our Origin and Story
Taichung is a city blessed with sunshine, diversity, and genuine warmth, more and more foreigners are choosing to make it their home. They may be professionals on overseas assignments, international students, partners in cross-cultural marriages, or families beginning a new life together in Taiwan.
Yet, even in such a welcoming city, many still encounter challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and unfamiliar systems.
From medical visits and legal consultations to insurance claims, education, and the details of everyday life; these can all be quite challenging when adjusting to and experiencing cross-cultural living.
TAGE was created to ensure that no one faces these challenges alone. We believe that “understanding and support are the most powerful tools in cross-cultural communication.”

How We Came Together
The founders of TAGE (Taichung Association for Global Engagement) come from diverse professional backgrounds—physicians, lawyers, nurses, educators, insurance consultants, and social workers.
Through years of serving international residents and multicultural families, we came to a shared realization: while individual expertise is valuable, only by integrating different fields and working as a team can we truly respond to the complex needs of foreigners living in Taiwan.
With that vision, we joined forces to establish TAGE- a collaborative, institutional platform that connects healthcare, law, insurance, education, and social support into one caring network.
By working closely with corporations, government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations, we aim to combine professionalism, openness, and creativity and so hope to provide every foreigner in Taiwan meaningful, holistic, and heartfelt support, so that they feel understood, assisted, and respected throughout their journey here.
